Paucis Verbis: Continuous Infusions

I have always been envious of the residents who carry around the Continuous Infusions cheat-sheet card, which was created by the UCSF Critical Care Units as part of a campaign for Safe Medication Prescriptions. I want one! So I finally managed to wrangle one away for a few minutes and xerox copy it. Here is the abbreviated card, after paring down the list to just ED-focused medications.

Does anyone else have a useful pocket card to share?

You can download this PV card: [MS Word] [PDF]

  1. For the Naloxone gtt, you could add:
"Start @ 1/3 hourly bolus requirement"

    1. Thanks! I wasn't sure if I should include that because people vary the starting drip dose at 1/3-2/3 of the naloxone requirement for one hour. Since it wasn't on the original Critical Care card, I just avoided the whole issue and elected not to include on my card either. We'll just keep the dosing calculation our secret! Shhhh.
